Early Childhood Educator (Part-time)

Description, Responsibilities, & Duties

Winnetka Public School Nursery (WPSN) is seeking an experienced early childhood educator who can passionately support children’s play, inquiry, creativity, and critical thinking for a part-time co-teaching position. WPSN is a small, NAEYC accredited, non-profit preschool in Winnetka, IL. We are a community of dedicated teachers and families committed to a progressive, Reggio-inspired approach to teaching and learning.

Primary Responsibilities:
Create engaging, developmentally appropriate, and aesthetically pleasing indoor and outdoor classroom environments
Plan and implement a co-constructed curriculum that reflects the interests of the children and that fosters inquiry, creativity, critical thinking, and meaningful relationships
Document the children’s experiences to make visible their growth and development, their ideas, and their work
Embrace the role of teacher as a researcher and partner in learning
Communicate effectively and thoughtfully with families and colleagues
Participate in professional development meetings, workshops, and conferences

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field required, Master’s degree preferred
Experience with Reggio-inspired practices preferred
Ability and desire to work in a collaborative environment committed to creative thinking, professional growth, and reflective practice
Excellent communication skills
Passion, curiosity, commitment, and a joyful approach to teaching and learning
