Educators at the Hanna Fenichel Center team teach in nurturing, play, and inquiry-based environments, which meet the emotional, social, intellectual, and physical needs of young children. Our Mission is to create a community that supports each child’s growing sense of self and innate passion for learning through experiences that foster strong social skills, inquiry, and discovery. Teachers co-research topics with children and colleagues to create a curriculum that supports these dispositions for learning. Daily documentation, reflection meetings, and analysis of children’s experiences are used as tools to deepen and extend learning opportunities for children and adults.
Preferred qualifications include:
Preferred Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field
Two years of teaching experience in a social constructivist, inquiry-based environment
Ability to develop and maintain close parent relationships
Strong collaborative and communication skills.
Openness for feedback and self-reflection.
An innovative, curious, creative, and open mind.
Familiarity with the Reggio approach
Excellent writing skills and computer literacy
Experience creating documentation panels
