Putnam Indian Field School
101 Indian Field Rd.
Greenwich, CT 06830
Start Date: July 1, 2022
FUTURE LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITY
The next leader of Putnam Indian Field School (PIFS) will find a happy pre-school, a school where the children
are celebrated as individuals, a school where the children are joyfully engaged in learning. The facility is
purposefully designed with developmentally appropriate classroom environments and impressive outdoor play
spaces and surrounding areas. The campus is spacious and serene; it is hard to imagine that it is only a minute
or two from I-95. PIFS has handled the pandemic incredibly well. Its enrollment is stable and at capacity and
parents are very supportive of the School. The administrative team is small but talented, and the faculty is
experienced, committed, and hard-working. The teacher-to-student ratio for toddlers is 1:4, and 1:10 for pre-school, and opportunities for smaller groupings occur during Resource classes in Studio, Science/Nature, and Music. This is an opportunity to lead a pre-school that is committed to its mission; PIFS does what it says it does
and makes a difference in the lives of the children and families it serves.
Skills and personal traits desired in the next leader:
• An individual who knows, loves and is committed to high-quality early education.
• A dedicated, passionate, and energetic educator who connects with and knows the students, parents, board
of trustees, and other constituencies.
• A compassionate, caring, and supportive mentor who serves as a role model and colleague for faculty and
staff
• A multi-talented and thoughtful leader who has the courage and conviction to deal with the challenges that
will face PIFS and other schools over the next generation.
• A flexible, innovative, and supportive head who is willing to ask questions and do whatever is necessary
to promote continuous improvement in an already strong program.
• A manager with business acumen and a willingness to deal with finance, state regulations, accreditation, and
staffing needs.
