Description, Responsibilities, & Duties

The Children’s Meetinghouse is seeking an infant-toddler teacher to join our educational team beginning in May 2021. We are a non-profit early childhood program located in beautiful Concord, MA. We place priority on honoring children in their capability and we follow a play-based, Reggio Emilia inspired approach.

Along with collaborating on a teaching team, job requirements include participating in all duties related to the education and care of young children. Preferred applicants have a passion to work with children in a group setting, joy in inquiry based projects, and interest in making learning visible through documentation.

A note about COVID-19 regulations: We have been open since August, after the public health crisis shut down, and have been very successful staying healthy thanks to the cooperation and support of our wonderful families and staff. At this time, we are open from 7:30am to 3:30pm with no extended day for the remainder of this school year. Our teacher to child ratio is very generous and we are using our large playground spaces for lots of outdoor explorations. Please note, we will have our extended day program back for the 2021-2022 school year (7:30am-5:30pm). Shifts for the 2021-2022 school year will be 7:30am-3:30pm or 9:30am-5:30pm.

The exact start date in May 2021 is flexible but we are looking to hire ASAP.

Program Description

Our school for young children is committed to anti-bias curriculum, a climate of respect to others, and the awareness that education holds the responsibility to create a better world. Our educators thrive to support families by providing the best possible care and the best early education for their children.

Established in 1984, our school specializes in a child-centered, emergent curriculum incorporating influences from the Reggio Emilia philosophy. As children cultivate interests by exploring the world through their natural curiosity, our experienced and dedicated teachers develop age-appropriate curriculum to broaden their knowledge. A variety of activities is provided to enrich each child’s individual development while also promoting social-emotional intelligence. A big part of the children’s daily experience is engaging with nature in our wonderful outdoor space. Our children are skilled and well prepared to succeed throughout school and in life!

The Children’s Meetinghouse is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing families with the highest quality Early Childhood Education and care. We follow a school-year, 10-month calendar and serve children ages 4 months through 5 years in our Infant-Toddler and Preschool classroom.
