Lead Preschool Teacher

Description, Responsibilities, & Duties

We are currently seeking a full time lead preschool teacher to join our program. We are a nature based early childhood program in the village of Stowe. Our pedagogy is influenced by the work of Reggio Emilia. We focus on children’s skills and interests to build curriculum around them. We spend a considerable amount of time outside each day and developed several outdoor classrooms.

Responsibilities for the lead preschool teacher include weekly curriculum planning. Daily observations of each child. Developing strong relationships with children and their families. Collaborating with coteachers throughout the classrooms to develop curriculum. Creating intentional and beautiful learning environments for children. Promoting children’s independence and autonomy through tasks, play, and routines.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree as well as classroom experience

Program Description

Mountain Village School is a nature based early childhood program in the village of Stowe, Vermont. Our work is inspired by Reggio Emilia and we work to intentionally plan curriculum and experiences that extend children’s learning and thinking.

We spend a considerable amount of time outside each day in all types of weather. We also provide healthy meals that are organic, vegetarian, and served family style to support social skills alongside nutrition.
