Preschool Director

Description, Responsibilities, & Duties

– Responsible for record keeping as dictated by State of Colorado Child Care Standards and the Program Director
– Responsible for meeting State of Colorado Child Care Regulations.
– Organize curriculum and instruction for students 6 weeks to 5.
– Responsible for scheduling of staff and daily student schedules.
– Responsible for communicating with the parents of students.
– Hire, train, and supervise staff of 6-10.
– Supervise children when necessary.
– Maintain facility and equipment.
– Predict, prevent, identify and respond to safety issues for children in his/her care.
– Uphold Policies and Procedures as it relates to childcare licensing, YMCA policies, and ACA guidelines.
– Must attend required trainings and meetings.
– Assist in opening or closing the preschool as assigned.
– Participate in daily cleaning of program buildings as assigned.
– Work in other departments or program areas as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

– Must possess Early Childhood Education Degree, teaching license with early childhood, or early childhood special education endorsement.
– Must meet State of Colorado qualifications for a director of a child care center.
– Must be able to work effectively with other team members and communicate to resolve issues.
– Must possess a valid, USA state issued drivers license, an acceptable driving record, and comply with YMCA driving rules.
– Must regularly lift up to 40 pounds up to four feet
– Must have basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
– Must be at least 23 years old
– Must be fluent in speaking English
– Must enjoy working with kids and possess excellent customer service skills.
– Must possess current First Aid and CPR certification

Salary & Benefits

This is a full-time, year-round position paying $51,000 – $55,000/year with competitive benefits & employee perks including:

Program Description

Bennett Preschool, located on the property of YMCA of the Rockies, is less than ΒΌ mile from the border of Rocky Mountain National Park. Kids ages 1-5 spend at least 50% of their day outside, hiking on property, or using our newly built outdoor classroom.

The Bennett Preschool Director is responsible for the administration of the infant, toddler, and preschool program. He/she ensures compliance with licensing, fiscal success, and curriculum implementation.
