We are seeking a passionate educator to join our team. This is a team teaching position in a preschool classroom. Our school year runs from runs from late-August to late-June. Opportunities to teach summer camp in July may be available depending on interest.

Evergreen is a place for meaningful explorations with children, where reflective practice is at the heart of both learning and teaching. Our program uses a developmental curriculum based on the theories of Piaget, Erikson, Vygotsky and the Reggio Emilia approach. The curriculum is experiential and is designed to promote growth through play and exploration. Using age-appropriate materials and activities, children are assisted in building socialization skills while practicing the developmental tasks of trust, autonomy and initiative. We are seeking a teacher with some experience in inquiry-based curriculum.
Duties include:
• Planning, implementing and supervising the curriculum for the class in accordance with school policies and philosophy.
• Observing, reflecting and documenting individual and group experiences
• Keeping a portfolio for each child with dated work that shows a progression of skill, interest and activity
• Using documentation and portfolios as a guide for developing curriculum
• Developing individual goals for each child while being mindful of group 
dynamics and collaboration
• Writing and distributing weekly updates.
• Collaborating on a teaching team
• Building positive, supportive relationships with families
• Engaging in daily dialogue and collaboration with teaching team, our atelierista and pedagogista
• Working alongside children in the classroom daily
• Ensuring the well-being of all children at all times
• Small group work, video analysis, documentation, weekly team meetings, etc.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

Our program requires the following in addition to a BA in ECE or related field, strong child development background, and at least two years of early childhood experience:
• knowledge of social constructivism or the Reggio approach
• excellent writing and speaking skills
• ability and desire to think creatively about ideas and materials
• strong collaborative skills
• ability to multi-task
• computer literacy
• long term commitment
• strong organizational and time management skills
