Community Childhood Learning Place, a Reggio Emilia inspired early learning program located in a beautiful town on the coast of Maine, is seeking a teacher to inspire learning in our children. The “Round School” was designed and built with the principles of Reggio Emilia Approach in mind. The three classrooms are located around a beautiful art space. The learning environment provides opportunities for teachers to design activities based upon the interest of the children, 3-months to 5-years. All learning activities follow the Maine Early Learning Standards.
Candidates should have bachelor degree in early childhood education or a closely related area.. Experience working with young children would be appreciated, but the staff is more than willing to provide training for candidates willing to learn. Out staff has more than forty-decades in the education field. We are a team and build upon each other’s skills.
Salary is based upon education and experience. A relocation benefit can be applied.
Hired employees receive thee-paid inservice days per year plus a training budget.
After a probation period, staff receive approximately three-weeks paid vacation.

The Community Childhood Learning Place is a year round, full-day program serving children, three-months to kindergarten, including after school and summer programing for school-aged children, that recognizes the rich potential of each child physically, cognitively, and emotionally through child-centered, play-based discovery learning while valuing the contribution of family interaction, community involvement, and the importance of engaging teachers well-grounded in child development, learning philosophies, and wellness principles.
License/Accreditation
The Community Childhood Learning Place, named the Round School by the children, is licensed by the Maine Department of Health and Human Services to serve 49-children, three-months to five-years-of-age. The learning curriculum is based upon the Reggio Emilia Approach and critical thinking. An After School Program is also offered for school-aged children from kindergarten to 12-year-of age. The program is part of the Maine Quality for ME and the Maine childcare subsidy program and ME.
