The Early Childhood School at the SJCC on Mercer Island seeks passionate, reflective, collaborative, and inquisitive individuals dedicated to the field of Early Childhood Education. Strong candidates will have formal education in the field of Early Childhood Education and three or more years of experience working with young children, preferably in a Reggio Emilia inspired model. We are currently seeking full time teachers for varying age groups, ranging from our Infant Program through our Four Year Old Program. We are also seeking part time teachers for our two year old program.
The Early Childhood School at the SJCC is a school of excellence where children feel secure and confident, and are nurtured to become deep and creative thinkers. We are inspired by the schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy as well as by a social constructivist perspective. We also celebrate Jewish culture and values.
We serve over 200 children aged three months to five years across sixteen classrooms. Our faculty is comprised of innovative educators who believe in striving for excellence in Early Childhood Education. Teachers are seen as competent leaders in the school and are invited to participate in decision making, visioning, and the overall development of our school. Our teaching teams develop curriculum around the interests, inquiries, and identities of our children. Relationships are at the center of our community, and we seek individuals with the ability to partner with faculty, families, and the Leadership Team to support the work of our school community.
We offer a competitive salary ranging from 30 – 40K (based on a 40 hour work week, 52 weeks year), medical/dental/vision benefits, paid time off, health club membership, substantial paid planning time each week, weekly team meeting time, and excellent internal and external professional development opportunities.
