Our program blends Waldorf and Reggio Emilia approaches with a strong emphasis on outdoor learning and respectful relationships. We partner with land stewards to bring children into living connection with the earth.

Position Overview:

The Lead Teacher will hold space for a mixed-age early childhood group in our morning program (ages 2–5), fostering a loving, developmentally appropriate, and consistent environment. This is a part-time, salaried position with on-site housing included. 25 hours per week.Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM–12:45 PM Sept 2, 2025-May 30th 2026

Lavender Hill, a Waldorf/Reggio-inspired nature-based early childhood program nestled in the heart of Longmont, CO, just 15 min from Boulder. We are seeking a warm, experienced, and creative Lead Teacher to join our close-knit community for the 2025–26 school year. Lavender Hill is a family childcare home and the school resides in the home.

Responsibilities:
  • Guide a class of young children through a daily rhythm rooted in nature, play, storytelling, movement, and seasonal activities
  • Collaborate with assistant staff and directors to plan and implement curriculum
  • Communicate regularly and respectfully with families
  • Maintain a clean, beautiful, and safe indoor and outdoor learning environment
  • Participate in ongoing reflection and professional development
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
  • A deep respect for young children and nature-based education
  • Experience with Waldorf, Reggio Emilia, or similar holistic pedagogies

 

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

  • At least 5 years of early childhood teaching experience
  • A strong sense of rhythm, creativity, and initiative
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • ECE credentials or willingness to pursue Colorado licensing requirements

 

Salary & Benefits

Salary:

$30,000–$40,000 9 months (commensurate with experience)
