We strive to continually elevate knowledge among all children and adults. As a school we are committed to an ethic of excellence. Currently we achieve this through our educator support network, our in house ‘ lab classrooms’, and reshaping our culture to be one of inquiry, research, belonging, and quality. Based on research, best practices, and child development – we work to create responsive environments where each child (and adult) feels loved, respected and valued. To support the development of an investigative attitude towards teaching and learning, we focus on building this with our teachers so that they can build this culture within their classrooms.
In the classroom the focus is on the social/emotional development of the children using an emotionally responsive practice – Conscious Discipline. Teachers work to understand the meaning behind children’s play and behavior and partner with the children to build the curriculum around what is most important to them within a constructivist context. Academics, skills, concepts are woven meaningfully into the daily context of the classroom.
