The Growing Place at Ocean Park in Santa Monica is seeking a full time Assistant Director. The Assistant Director is responsible for providing all of the services necessary to enable the programs for children, staff and parents to operate in accordance to our mission, policies and practices in the best interest of children, teachers and families. The Assistant Director provides support to the Executive Director, Campus Director, faculty and parents.
We are looking for an Assistant Director whose responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Maintain a visible presence and act as a liaison between families, agencies, and the program
• Work to organize annual fundraising and development opportunities with the parent community, Development Coordinator and Executive Director
• Organize and support opportunities for professional development, team building and collaborative work with teachers and parents
• Provide and offer parent support and discussions about parenting and child development
• Promote community outreach, organize school events
• Lead our admissions process
• Promote and support a strong parent association
• Assure compliance with applicable state and county codes and regulations, compliance with all State
Licensing Child Care regulations, and NAEYC requirements
• MA / BA in ECE or related field
• Administration/Leadership coursework and experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience and understanding of how to work effectively and in partnership with parents and teachers in a quality program
• Superior organizational and office skills
