The atelierista is responsible for extending and deepening children’s learning by creating unique opportunities for children to engage with enticing materials in thoughtfully composed small groups.
The atelierista ensures that aesthetic awareness and rich material engagement are infused into the school environment through the facilitation of the school’s art studio and collaboration with classroom teachers. The atelierista is also responsible for facilitating the creation of forward facing documentation of student work that represents curricular threads from across the school.
Hours for this position are M-F, 8:30am to 3pm, plus a regular Wednesday all staff meeting from 3-5 pm.
3+ yrs of center-based ECE experience
Associates or higher in ECE or related field
Experience practicing the Reggio Emilia approach
Experience facilitating art experiences with young children
Ability to meet outside of school hours at least once a month
Willingness to take on additional duties as necessary
Strong communication and collaboration skills
$18-$22/hr
