Basic functions and responsibilities:
Facilitate and sustain a system to introduce and explore materials with students in the Studio
Listen to children and collaborate with teachers to support the development of meaningful projects and experiences that explore students’ 100 languages
Collaborate with the School Leader, Pedagogista and Teacher Leaders to plan and facilitate ongoing staff support, development, and collaboration
Support teachers with documentation and developing skills to make student thinking and learning visible to students, families, colleagues and community
Support teachers in developing their understanding and application of Reggio principles
Collaborate and communicate with students, families and colleagues in support of students and our community
Make visible the work of the school to others in the field through professional workshops, presentations, social media, communication with visitors, and external collaboration
Support prospective and current family engagement in the school and with Reggio principles
Attend and facilitate all-school events during the school year
Serve on the school’s Pedagogy Committee
Supervise students and support the operations of the school as necessary
Required Qualifications
Teaching experience
Experience with studio art
Experience with the Northern Lights’ foundational philosophies: the Reggio-Emilia, Finnish, and Place-Based approaches to education
Commitment to the Northern Lights’ Mission and Vision
Preferred Qualifications
MN teaching licensure
Experience working in urban school settings with diverse student populations
Teaching experience in a Reggio-Emilia inspired environment
Experience with adult collaboration
Experience coaching teachers
Strong written and Reggio-Emilia inspired documentation skills
$40,000-$60,000
