Description, Responsibilities, & Duties

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

The ITC is seeking a highly experienced, visionary early care and education leader to oversee all aspects of operations and carry out the philosophy, mission and core values of ITC.

Key responsibilities of the Director will be to:
• Provide vision, leadership, mentoring and supervision to teaching and administrative staff
• Oversee staff professional development and program curriculum
• Prepare and manage annual budget, implement business practices & prepare reports
• Oversee fundraising and grant writing activities
• Foster collaborative relationships with parent community and outside community
• Assure all ITC & EEC policies, procedures and licensing regulations are followed
• Work closely with ITC’s administrative staff and Board of Directors

• M.A. in Early Childhood Education or a related field
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years director experience
• meet Massachusetts Department of Early eDucation and care Director II qualifications

Program Description

The ITC is a non-profit, independent NAEYC-accredited early learning center located in Acton, MA. ITC serves 140 children ages 3 months to 5 years, and school-agers K through grade 3 after school and during school vacation. Founded in 1981, ITC a recognized leader in the field, providing high quality early care and education to young children through an innovative approach that “supports families and collaborates with children as they learn about themselves, each other and the world.” Guided by a Board of Directors, ITC has a teaching staff of 35 experienced early childhood professionals and a community of close-knit families. ITC’s focus is to offer a positive learning environment for children, one that engages the whole child through emergent curriculum based on the interests of the children and their families.
