Early Childhood Educator (Ages 2-5)

Description, Responsibilities, & Duties

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with co-teachers and the atelierista to design and implement Reggio-inspired
    learning projects
  • Observe, document, and reflect on children’s interests and discoveries
  • Partner with children as co-learners and researchers in the classroom
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with families through consistent communication
  • Create documentation panels and online posts that make learning visible
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, meetings, and conferences

 

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications
  • Experience working with young children in a Reggio Emilia–inspired or play-based
    setting
  • Understanding of child-centered education and emergent curriculum
  • Positive and respectful approach to guiding behavior
  • Collaborative, flexible, and reflective educator who values teamwork
  • Strong communication, observation, and organizational skills
Education & Certifications
  • Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred)
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification (preferred)
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to complete upon hire)

 

Salary & Benefits

Salary Start:

38,000-42,000

  • Health, dental, and vision coverage after 90 days
  • Paid time off after 90 days and all Beaufort County school holidays

The Day School is a Reggio Emilia–inspired preschool for children ages 2–5.
