A private, non-profit preschool program in palo alto is seeking an experienced early childhood professional to join our teaching team in a play-based, reggio emilia-inspired, early care and education program. We are also seeking an administrative assistant.
Our ideal candidate will love working with young children, have a professional, nurturing demeanor and dedication to the profession, to young children, and to their families. Must have excellent spoken and written command of english, experience in emergent curriculum, an appreciation and understanding of co-learning with children, dap and knowledge of naeyc standards. Candidates should enjoy working in a team-approach, with the belief that children deserve to be with adults that live with integrity, honesty and respect for others. Teachers must display confidence, poise, professionalism, good communication skills, and the ability to be highly flexible. Must be able to multi-task, pay attention to detail, have a good sense of humor, and be a self-starter.
WE’RE LOOKING FOR A CANDIDATE WHO HAS A KEEN UNDERSTANDING OF THE COMPETENCY OF ALL CHILDREN WITH A DEEP COMMITMENT TO REFLECTIVE PRACTICE.
MINIMUM BACHELORS DEGREE IN EARLY CHILDHOOD OR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT, MASTERS DEGREE PREFERRED. CANDIDATE MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 12 UNITS IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND AT LEAST 3 YEARS EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH CHILDREN AGES 18 MONTHS – 6 YEARS.

Crescent park child development center is licensed for 66 children, ages 18 months – 6 years, in a multi-aged mixed setting and is located on a beautiful campus in south palo alto. The center operates a year round, play-based, child-centered program and is well-known for its magical and nurturing neighborhood-like environment, intimate teacher/family relationships and community-based professional development opportunities.
The curriculum is rich in a well-balanced combination of child and teacher initiated projects in order to support the child’s emerging interests as observed through play, photography and documentation, as inspired by the reggio emilia approach. There is a strong emphasis in creating an environment that supports reflective thinking for both children and staff, developing deep, meaningful relationships with the entire learning community, the environment, and helping children grow in awareness of others and respect for all.
