Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

DESCRIPTION, RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  1. Bring your joy to work!
  2. Expect and accept coaching.
  3. Work as a part of a team assigned to help a specific group of children become competent in all areas of development.
  4. Maintain a rich, child-focused, developmentally appropriate environment for the children in his/her care.
  5. Plan and implement a rich, child-focused, developmentally appropriate curriculum for the children in his or her care.  Share weekly plans with lead teachers.
  6. Gather data about each child and keep records that lead to completion of summary reports during the year.  The data will be gathered for these reports through anecdotal records, developmental checklists, and portfolios.
  7. Understand and implement positive behavior management.
  8. Assist in the general operations of the classroom, including but not limited to: serving meals and snack, cleaning the classroom when the children have left, bringing children from the buses, and putting them back on at the end of the day.
  9. Attend in-service training and local conferences, and read articles or books that keep him/her abreast of issues and trends in early childhood education.
  10. Complete all necessary continuing education as required by NAEYC, licensing, and St. Mary’s Child Center.  This includes attending one complete Reggio seminar series.
  11. Participate in early childhood staff meetings, and building-level meetings.
  12. Support, cooperate with, and communicate with other faculty and administration.
  13. Collaborate with classroom, building and agency teams on building matters, projects, investigations, family involvement and child concerns.  Maintain a positive attitude, and contribute to the general well-being of staff and students. Work and communicate with families in a positive manner, and on a regular basis.
  14. Work assigned hours, be punctual, and be regular in attendance.
  15. Behave, speak, and dress in a professional manner.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Full time/part time positions.

Bachelor of Science in ECE for lead teachers

CDA for assistants

Must pass all licensing requirements: fingerprinting, TB test, Drug and Physical

Preferred qualifications – Early childhood classroom experience and knowledge and/or experience with the Reggio Emilia philosophy

 

Salary & Benefits

Salary based on education and experience

Teachers $30,000

Assistants starting at $10.50 per hour
