Description, Responsibilities, & Duties
Are you an adventurous, fun, and creative educator? We’d love to meet you!
Manglares Discovery School is a private microschool in its seventh year, nestled in a secluded jungle setting. Serving children ages 3 to 13 from the vibrant beachside community of Playa Venao, our campus offers a rich environment for inquiry-based learning. With a waterfall on-site and frequent visits from three species of monkeys, diverse birds, and other wildlife, nature is an integral part of our students’ experience. The local culture adds further depth to our learning explorations.
What started as a single early education classroom has grown steadily, adding 1–2 grades per year. We now serve students from Pre-K through Grade 7 and are seeking an Early Years teacher to help strengthen our roots & foundation.
Our team of educators brings diverse perspectives and a passion for working with children. We are looking for candidates who:
- Embrace positive discipline and child-led learning
- Are open-minded and adaptable to different teaching approaches
- Foster curiosity and collaboration through discussion and reflection
- Model a lifelong love of learning
- Have classroom experience and are comfortable teaching kindergarten-level phonics and math
- If you believe in nurturing the whole child, love adventure, enjoy nature, and are excited about contributing to a growing school in a tropical setting, this opportunity could be a perfect fit!
