Program Description

We are a laboratory school for the College of Education, Health and Human Services AT KENT STATE UNIVERSTIY. As such we have field students, student teachers, observers from many departments, and researchers as part of our community.

The children who attend this school are eighteen months to six years. A concerted effort is given to enrolling children from diverse groups. The majority of children are from university families: students, faculty, and staff. The majority of children attend full time, with school open weekdays from 7a.m. to 5:30p.m DURING THE ACADEMIC YEAR. A LIMITED SUMMER PROGRAM IS ALSO IN OPERATION.

Our school believes that it is every child’s right to spend time outdoors each day.  Children who experience regular outdoor play are happier, healthier, and in-tune with nature.  Long uninterrupted time in the outdoors provides the chance for children to develop strong relationships with each other, teachers, and the natural world.
