The Early Childhood Education faculty perform duties and responsibilities under the general direction of the Vice President of Instruction and Dean of the Health Sciences, Education & Wellness Institute. The faculty member is responsible for: teaching in the classroom and practicum setting; assessing student learning outcomes; participating in on-going curriculum development, revision, and implementation; providing student advising; participating in college governance and decision making; maintaining current knowledge and skills in area of assignment; building collaborative relationships within the BC community and the community at large; and demonstrating a strong commitment to student success by fostering a positive, caring learning environment where diversity and pluralism is valued.
Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, Child and Family Studies, or related degree from an accredited institution
3 to 5 years of experience in early childhood education, working with children and families in an education setting
Ability to foster a positive and caring learning environment
Ability to teach a diverse population of students and advocate for pluralism
Ability to relate to students, staff and faculty of diverse ages, backgrounds, and abilities
Faculty annual salaries are based on a 173-day contract with a minimum of $51,361; beginning salary will be determined by the assessment of the candidate’s education and related experience. New hires cannot be placed above $55,175 unless exceptional circumstances prevail. WA state employees health benefits system.
