Our passionate founders have created WonderTree which is an Early Years Foundation program for learners between the ages of two to six years old. This program focuses on children shaping their own learning by actively exploring their passions, curiosities and interests in the classroom.
After an intensive year of preparation, WonderTree is delighted to announce that we will be opening our inaugural programs in the Fall of 2016 in Yixing, which is just a short distance from Shanghai.
The Position – Now it’s time for us to find you!
We are searching for an experienced Head Teacher for our Early Years Foundation program who can bring a sense of wonder to the classroom. This teacher understands the uniqueness of every child and their needs in an ever changing world. Preferred qualities we’re looking for include:
• A desire to learn, evolve and lead within the context of an integral, growing and learning community.
• A commitment to child-centered learning based on mindfulness observation and documentation of children’s being.
• Caring and respectful in relationships among, children, teachers and families.
• Demonstrates an understanding of the essential role of the environment and materials in the creation and expression of children’s thinking and understanding of their world.
• Demonstrates and understanding of working with the Principal as well as guiding and mentoring teachers.
• Possess a sense of curiosity and wonder of how your life would look like in such an innovating
Minimum Qualifications
• Native English speaker
• BA in Education (Preferable you have a Masters as well) with five years post grad work experience in early childhood education.
• Collaborative and team-oriented work style
• Strategic, flexible and a creative thinker
• Strong problem solving skills and positive attitude
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Enthusiastic about being part of a growing vibrant school
• Confident in taking risks
• Reflective, empathetic and compassionate
• Sense of wonder and humour
Our Teaching Package
• Contract Duration: 2 years
• Start Date: april
• Working Hours: 40 hours/week
Location: Yixing (2 hours from Shanghai)
• Compensation: 2,700 to 3,400 USD/month net
• 12-month multi-entry Foreign Expert Work (Z) Visa
• Housing
• Regular teacher training (holistic learning: Reggio, PYP, MI Theory)
