Infant/Toddler & Transition Teacher

Description, Responsibilities, & Duties

The Mentor Graphics Child Development Center has an immediate full time opening for an Infant/Toddler caregiver. Our ideal candidates would be energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated, authentic, passionate, curios, playful and most of all genuinely engaged by working with the very youngest learners, children birth through 5 years of age. Teachers at Mentor Graphics work in a collaborative, team based culture and are inspired by the schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy. Responsibilities of the position include: supporting the daily work of our school through curriculum that is responsive to children's interest; direct care giving with children; open and constructive communication with colleagues and parents. In addition we value staff development opportunities and on-going opportunities to grow in the areas of parent/child relationships, curriculum development and implementation, and documentation. Prerequisite requirements: enrollment in the Oregon Child Care Criminal History Registry and OR food handler’s card. Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

Knowledge of RIE and Reggio Inspired practice. • Degree– two year community college degree (AA) in Early Childhood Education or BA/BS degree in ECE, Child Development, Child and Family Studies or a closely related field • Experience working with young children and families in a Center based setting • Enrollment in Oregon State Criminal History Registry • Current First Aid and CPR Training • Commitment and expertise to provide high quality education and care to young children; experience with NAEYC accreditation standards preferred.
