Description, Responsibilities, & Duties

Our school is a private school located in The Woodlands, TX with a constructivist-based curriculum. This year, we have Kindergarten through grade 5, adding one grade level per year. We are a welcoming community of educators on a mission to bring the fun, play, and excitement back into learning. The right candidate will be a creative, adventurous educator with a team-based, collaborative spirit. Innovation is at the core of our program across the curriculum. Teachers, as well as students, are on a learning journey. The education of each child is personalized to optimize their potential. We have a small student-teacher ratio, and ample opportunity for 1-1 instruction. We are interested in hiring an experienced, passionate educator that can implement research-based, effective instructional practices that will enable each child to be successful.

General Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrate mastery of subjects to be taught and the ability to deliver instruction in a clear and creative way
Create and implement lesson plans that are aligned with our standards
Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to design and innovate curriculum, instruction, and programs to help carry out the school’s overall mission
Create, develop and modify lessons and materials that engage students in the learning process
Reflect upon teaching practices regularly and possess a desire to continuously improve instructional practices
Assess student progress in a variety of ways and make use of this data for planning, instruction, and differentiation
Create and maintain an organized, safe classroom which supports all learners and promotes collaboration, critical thinking, communication, cultural awareness and creativity.
Use available technology to enhance learning
Establish and maintain open communication with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community members
Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor at all times when communicating with students, parents, teachers, administrators and community members
Inform and engage parents in the education of their children
Maintain a culture of warmth, respect, and acceptance for all students in the classroom
Maintain a positive outlook and contribute to problem-solving initiatives with students, teachers, parents and administrators
Demonstrate an awareness of each child’s social emotional needs and be nurturing and approachable
Assist with support duties
Attend staff meetings and staff development training
CPR/First Aid Certification and other health requirement standards put forth by the Texas Department of Family and Regulatory Services (DFPS) for licensing and certification

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

Must live in or near The Woodlands, TX and surrounding area
Must pass an FBI fingerprinting criminal background check
Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and have own transportation
Certifications:
All qualified applicant must be a certified, experienced (at least 1 year) teacher that holds a current teaching certificate issued by the Texas Department of Education. Applicant must hold a certificate in at least one of the following areas:
-Early Childhood Education Certificate
-Elementary K-8 Certificate
-Special Education Certificate with an Early Childhood Endorsement

Salary & Benefits

$40,000 to start with class size of 9 students, possible bonus -details to be discussed upon interview.
Up to 2 children receive free tuition

Program Description

We are a constructivist-based private school. We have small class sizes, a friendly work atmosphere, and love learning alongside our students. We commonly take field trips and meet experts to guide us on our learning journey. Our K/1 class follows a Reggio Emilia style of teaching and learning. For grade 2 +, it is inquiry based with more of a foundation in the learning standards. Assessment guides instruction.
