**Lead Teacher Job Description – Magnolia Community Preschool**
Magnolia Community Preschool is a unique institution, home to a vibrant community of just 12 students and boasting a low teacher-student ratio of 1:4. This creates a low-stress environment, fostering relaxed creativity and deep reflection, while allowing our teachers to truly invest in each child’s learning journey.
We intend to transition to a Reggio Emilia Inspired program and are searching for a strong lead teacher.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Collaborate with the teaching team, children, and the Educational Coordinating Team to design, interpret, and research curricula such as lines of inquiry and provocations.
*Provide instruction and mentoring on Reggio Emilia pedagogy to team members.
* Establish strong daily routines and rhythms for adults and children, and co-lead daily small group work and meetings with children and teachers.
* Differentiate teaching for children with a variety of learning styles, temperaments, and interests, creating a sense of joyful learning.
* Establish a positive, warm, and safe atmosphere for children and adults to grow and develop.
* Intentionally design indoor and outdoor spaces that reflect our principles and pedagogy, and build authentic partnerships with parents informally and formally.
* Communicate with parents regarding their child’s development and support parents in feeling a sense of belonging in the community.
* Regularly employ appropriate technology required to plan, organize, observe, document, and make accessible the experiences of children and adults, including photographs, video/audio recordings, scanned work.
* Prepare and hold one Parent Teacher Meeting for new families and two Parent-Teacher Conferences for each child in the classroom of your teaching team.
* Actively participate in professional development opportunities, all team and staff meetings, and engage in events to create stronger partnerships in the community.
* Demonstrate professionalism in dress, attitude, communication, and punctuality, and embrace reflection as a tool for growth and learning.
**Qualifications:**
* Hold a minimum of 24 ECE units, BA in ECE or related field preferred.
* Minimum of two years of early childhood experience.
* Strong background in child development.
* Experience with Reggio Emilia teaching approach highly preferred.
* Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, equity, and professionalism.
$25-30 per hour compensation (depending on qualifications)
* Health insurance stipend.
* Paid Time Off (PTO).
* 3 weeks off per year for paid staff synchronized vacation (winter break, spring break, designated holidays).
