Description, Responsibilities, & Duties

An early learning program in a beautiful Maine coastal town is seeking teacher with an awareness of the Reggio Emilia Approach and a desire to work with children from two-half-years-of-age to school aged children. Candidates must have a strong awareness of developmental levels and the different ways to enhance these levels and the personal interests of each child through educational experiences.

In addition, candidates must be prepared to organize the learning environment for optimum experiences.
Candidates must have the ability to interact with parents and fellow staff members positively through strong communication skills. A strong work ethic is desired.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

An undergraduate degree in early childhood education or related field is desired. Two-years experience working with the early childhood population enhancing gross and fine motor development and critical thinking is preferred.

Salary & Benefits

Compensation is based upon the qualifications of the candidate. A relocation stipend could be provided.

Program Description

The Community Childhood Learning Place is a year round, full-day program serving children, three-months to kindergarten, including after school and summer programing for school-aged children, that recognizes the rich potential of each child physically, cognitively, and emotionally through child-centered, play-based discovery learning based on the Reggio Emilia Approach while valuing the contribution of family interaction, community involvement, and the importance of engaging teachers well-grounded in child development, learning philosophies, and wellness principles.
