Palisades Preschool is a private, independent nonprofit school for 60 young children, ages 2.9 through 6 years. Established in 1999 at our current location in the beautiful Santa Monica palisades, we have been studying Reggio inspired practices for the past ten years, reflecting on our own work, visiting other schools in the U.S., studying in Reggio Emilia, and offering Educator Tours at our site.
We value the role of aesthetics in developing children’s and adults’ sense of connection and empathy with one another and with environments and materials.
The calendar year starts in early August and ends in mid-June. The school is closed during the month of July.
Our community includes 8 co-teachers, 2 support teachers, 3 atelieristi, an assistant teacher, a director/pedagogista and co-administrator, in addition to specialist teachers in music and movement.
