Executive Director

Location: Co-op Family Center, Eugene, Oregon

Start Date: August 1, 2017

Description, Responsibilities, & Duties

This position is responsible for managing all business and administrative functions in support of the center operations, including fiscal management, office procedures management, and administrative functions that support the Reggio Emilia inspired early childhood education program. These responsibilities include philosophical development, budgetary authority, contract management, supervisory responsibilities, levels of decision-making, and reporting relationship. The position reports to the Board of Directors.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Nonprofit or Business Management, or a related field. • Ability to qualify at a Step 10 in the Oregon Registry Online. • A minimum of one year experience in a senior position at a non-profit organization. Must include experience with direct supervision of multiple levels of staff. • Valid Oregon driver’s license. • Enrollment in the Child Care Division Criminal History Registry and willing to obtain the following within the first 90 days of employment: First Aid and Infant CPR certification Food Handlers Card Child Abuse Reporting and Prevention training

Salary & Benefits

The annual salary range for this full-time exempt position is $50,000-$55,000 commensurate with experience. Benefits include fully paid health and dental insurance for the employee, a 403(B)plan, life insurance, generous vacation time, paid sick time and access to an educational fund. Program Description

The Co-op Family Center is a non-profit, contracted organization with the University of Oregon. We are a unique program that gives parents the opportunity to reduce their child’s tuition costs by participating in the daily operations of the center. We offer high quality, affordable childcare to University of Oregon students, faculty, staff, and community families. In operation since 1979, the Co-op offers a community-based approach to education. Following the Reggio Emilia educational philosophy, we consider the involvement of family and community essential in the process of raising children. Parents, children and staff all share a sense of ownership and empowerment through participation.
