Lead Teacher

Location: Nantucket Island, Massachusetts

Start Date: August 1, 2017

Description, Responsibilities, & Duties

Planning and implementing the daily learning experiences, learning environment, interest centers, and materials. Supervise the classroom and manage children. Work with a teaching team to establish routines and procedures for the children. Maintain a professional and positive attitude. Treat all children with kindness and respect. Attend all staff meetings, recommended training programs, and conferences. Supervise and promote activities designed to enhance the healthy emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development of children enrolled at Small Friends. Help to maintain a neat and organized classroom. Help children establish good habits of personal hygiene including hand washing and tooth brushing. Supervise all activities to ensure safety at all times. Report to Executive Director any concern which may occur with the center. Observe, record, and report on the development of children as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

Requires experience and interest in Early Education and Teaching. MA EEC license a plus. Must be willing and able to live year round on the island of Nantucket.

Salary & Benefits

Hours: 40/week. Base Salary: $39,811.00/year. Medical, tuition, and other benefits available.
